Residency Application - Low Season Artist Projects

The Low Season Artist Residency is made possible by many dedicated and generous people. In order for us to continue this work, we do need to collect a small application fee of $15 to cover administrative costs. If you would like to apply to our program but cannot pay this fee, we can offer you a one-time application fee waiver. Simply add a note stating a “waiver request”. If you are an artist who can afford more than the fee, please consider donating to pay it forward for someone who cannot. If you are applying for a second time, please be sure to pay the application fee.

IMPORTANT: When submitting your application fee, you will be directed to a PayPal link for the Block Island Arts Council (our fiduciary sponsor). Be sure to return to this page after you submit payment and click the “submit” button at the bottom of this form.

Why are you applying to Low Season Artist Residency? *

Please let us know how this residency might help your studio practice or why you are looking for some time away. Also consider why this non-traditional residency would work for you.

What is your relationship with Block Island? Have you visited? *

It is helpful for us to know if you have been to Block Island. Don’t worry if you haven’t, we simply want to know how much info to share if you are accepted.

Are you comfortable working with school children grades K-12? What is your teaching experience? *

Pitch us a brief (1-2 hour) workshop idea that could engage a school group or the general public *

Let us know your experience teaching and what creative workshop you could lead. If accepted we will help you with planning, logistics, and feedback. Note:if accepted you will need to complete a background check to work with the school.
