
Kari Varner explores altered ecologies using a variety of image making techniques. She received her MFA from Washington University in St. Louis and her BFA from the University of Denver. Her work has been exhibited at Palazzo Museum Bourbon del Monte, Monte Santa Maria Tiberina, Italy; Gallery Ondo, Seoul, South Korea; Candela Gallery, Richmond, VA and will be featured in the exhibition Here and Now at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Ithaca, NY in the summer of 2025. She has received grants from the Light Work Organization, the Puffin Foundation and completed residency at Millay Arts, the Institute for Electronic Arts at Alfred University and Kimmel Harding Nelson. She currently serves as a Lecturer in photography at Binghamton University and is an Erie Canal Artist-in-Residence for 2025.
